Today we’re heading to the North African** Sahara Desert** — a region where extreme temperatures and remoteness test every piece of equipment.


What started as a customer’s visit to our production facilities in Poland has evolved into a full-scale implementation of a technology designed to **transform oil production efficiency in one of the harshest environments on Earth. **

In these conditions, conventional ALS solutions often face performance and reliability issues. EP02 — a Linear electric submersible pump (LESP) — was designed precisely to overcome the challenges, like operating in harsh conditions with extended reliability.

Its linear permanent magnet motor (LPMM) provides direct reciprocating motion without mechanical conversions, minimizing wear and energy losses. The modular design allows quick customization to specific well conditions — with downhole components rated up to +175 °C, and capable of handling fluids up to 1000 cSt viscosity.

The EP02 system is powered and controlled through the AK06 LM Oil production variable speed drive with the UMKA 07 controller, enabling:

The modular VSD architecture, rated up to 150 kW, ensures low MTTR and simplified field maintenance — a key factor for desert deployment.
The downhole unit combines the advantages of SRP and ESP technologies:
Dry-type connection of the sensor module — allowing replacement without oil pumping Plug-in power cable connector — reducing installation time to under 20 minutes Full magnet protection — extending motor lifetime Hydraulic compensator with flange connection — simplifying service and assembly
Available in multiple pump configurations, EP02 delivers up to 900 bbl/day with a flow head of 13,120 ft, covering a wide range of production requirements.
Additionally, EP02 Select software supports precise well modeling, ensuring that every EP02 installation operates at peak efficiency.
Innovation once on paper — now working in the field. Currently, three EP02 units are deployed in the field with optimized operating conditions and performance.
